Tips for a successfully move

1. When hiring a moving company - make sure employees work for the company - if you get stuck with day laborers, your bill will be 50% more than if you got experienced movers

2. Questions to ask - how long company has been in business

3. Check the Better Business Bureau for complaints

4. Have complaints been resolved

5. Check company's insurance policy and make sure it is still active - ask to see policy, do not take their word about having insurance - you need proof

6. Ask about hidden charges

7. Make sure all charges are explained and in writing

8. Make sure your items are carefully wrapped and placed in truck

9. Inexperienced movers will damage all your belongings - furniture will be dented, nicked and scratched
